About this role:

AndrenaM is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and scaling of manufacturing processes for our maritime sensing and autonomous systems. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between product design and large-scale production, ensuring our mechanical and electronic systems are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet rigorous quality standards for harsh maritime environments.

In this role, you will focus on high-volume production methods such as injection molding, PCB manufacturing, and integration while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative designs to life. Your expertise will enable the efficient production of durable, high-performance systems that integrate cutting-edge sensors and electronics.

  • Develop Manufacturing Processes: Design and implement efficient, scalable manufacturing processes for components and assemblies, ensuring repeatability and quality in production.
  • Collaborate on DFM: Partner with mechanical and electrical engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability and ease of assembly.
  • Lead Prototyping and Production: Transition designs from prototypes to full-scale production, driving pilot builds and refining processes for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Supplier and Partner Management: Work closely with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams to optimize production workflows and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Implement Quality Control: Develop and oversee quality assurance protocols, ensuring products meet stringent performance, durability, and compliance standards.
  • Optimize Material Use: Evaluate and select materials (e.g., composites, polymers, metals) for production, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Drive Automation and Efficiency: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to reduce costs and production timelines.
  • Software Automation: Ability to program or understand production programing.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain compliance with defense industry standards, including DoD and ITAR regulations, and implement best practices for manufacturing in rugged environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of manufacturing processes for injection molding, composites layup and integration.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure products are designed for efficient production and assembly.
  • Oversee supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components and materials.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues, continuously improving processes to optimize yield and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including process instructions, BOMs, and SOPs.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive process optimization.
  • Lead the implementation of new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and automation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on high-volume production processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in plastic injection molding, composite fabrication, CNC machining, and assembly techniques.
  • Materials Knowledge: Proficient in selecting and working with composites, polymers, and metals for rugged applications.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX) and manufacturing software, with experience in production planning tools.
  • Industry Background: Experience in defense, aerospace, or maritime industries is highly desirable.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem Solving: Track record of identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges, with a focus on efficiency and scalability.
